Reiki and My Faith: How I See God’s Hand in Healing
When I first began my Reiki journey, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had read about the practice, I had heard others’ experiences, but nothing could prepare me for how deeply it would touch my soul. Like my Reiki teacher once shared, the moment I felt the energy flow through my hands, I knew something divine was happening. It was as if God Himself had given me a gift—a way to serve, to love, and to help heal.
Far from taking me away from my Christian faith, Reiki has drawn me closer to God. I have felt His Spirit in a way that is undeniable—an overwhelming sense of peace, hope, and joy that reminded me I am never alone. Each time I channel Reiki, I don’t see it as me doing the healing. I see myself as a vessel, allowing the Creator’s life force energy to move through me for the good of another.
Scripture confirms this for me. In John 14:12, Jesus says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who believes in me the works I do shall he do also, and greater than these shall he do, because I go to the Father.” To me, this is exactly what Reiki represents—the continuation of Christ’s healing work through those who believe.
Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 12 also resonate deeply: “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit… to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit.” Reiki has shown me that this gift of healing is alive and well, still flowing through us when we open our hearts to it.
I no longer question whether God exists—His presence is undeniable in every Reiki session, in every moment of peace, and in every testimony of healing I’ve witnessed. Like my teacher, I feel called to share this gift, not only to help others heal, but to remind us all that God’s Spirit works through us in miraculous ways.
So if you’ve ever been unsure about Reiki because of its name or its origin, I invite you to see it with an open heart. To me, it is nothing less than Amazing Grace—a reminder that God’s love, healing, and Spirit are alive, flowing, and available to us all.
